Amsive Digital is seeking an experienced media strategist to support our expanding Strategy & Planning team. As the Director of Media Strategy & Planning, you will be responsible for creation and communication of detailed media strategy plans and innovative proposals. The ideal candidate will be a highly effective team leader who has extensive understanding of media planning and research with the ability to use them to drive superior omni-channel strategic solutions for our clients. 

You will quickly establish yourself internally as a strong partner to the Customer Experience and Media teams, empowering them to deliver against client objectives, while leveraging Amsive Digital’s custom suite of tools. To the client you will be a trusted extension of their core team, dedicated to understanding their business and driving strategic thought leadership. Day to day you will work laterally across the organization with our key stakeholders to identify growth potential and develop growth plans for new and existing client business.

The right candidate, will have a strong foundation (5+ years) in media planning with a passion for story-telling. You will be the key to translating client objectives into media strategy across all paid media, including paid search + social, programmatic, broadcast, direct mail and outdoor.

This candidate must demonstrate an ability to independently take initiative, anticipate needs, and exercise independent and exercise sound judgment. Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple direct reports and work cross functionally is critical.

This position will report to the VP of Strategy & Planning


  • Lead the team to deliver comprehensive integrated media plans which demonstrate thoughtful strategy, measurable revenue and growth for our Clients
  • Develop omni-channel media strategies, consumer journeys, channel plans and confidently present to clients, prospects and internal stakeholders
  • Serve as an integral resource to the broader team, particularly media planners & strategists, for advice and counsel
  • Connect the dots between our client goals, data & analytics, insights and media execution to develop detailed and thoughtful strategy
  • Be the first point of contact for our Sales & Sales Enablement teams to uncover their client needs and own media strategy and planning for new business prospects
  • Play a pivotal role in new business opportunities by producing media strategy proposal decks, and overseeing the media planning team to develop actionable plans
  • Have a strong understanding of available media planning tools
  • Working with the Customer Experience leads and Media Specialists, facilitate and coordinate the output of key strategic materials for significant meetings and client engagements.  To include QBRs, test plans and annual plans
  • Build strong, collaborative client relationships, instilling trust and authority on behalf of the agency
  • Champion media strategy and planning within the agency and create digital and traditional workshops to showcase media strategy and planning functions and their impact on business growth
  • Provide team management and strategic insight for several direct reports including media planners and strategists: Manage, train and mentor.
  • Guide team in setting goals and professional development timelines, ensure team members have challenging, level-appropriate projects and opportunities to learn new skills
  • Consistently deliver and inspire the team to produce high-quality and impactful work that helps our new and existing client engagements grow

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • 7+ years-experience in an agency environment, with direct media planning experience
  • 3+ years in a marketing strategy leadership role with progressive levels of responsibility
  • Advanced knowledge of digital media channels including paid search, paid social and programmatic
  • Experience with Google’s full suite of tools.  Google and Facebook certifications desired
  • Experience of traditional media and Out of Home – Direct mail experience is desirable but not essential
  • A proven track record of delivering compelling media strategy and driving measurable results
  • Familiarity with insights tools that enhance media strategy such as Kantar, MRI & Mintel
  • Experience in data driven strategy and Data Management Platforms is a plus
  • The ability to drive and thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong communication skills
